Our Monster test bow finally arrived! Here is a brief rundown of our impressions:
Balance: The Monster is a top heavy bow that wants to rock forward in your hand.
Finish: Everything about the finish and construction is first class, just what we expect from Mathews.
Draw Cycle: The Monster pulls hard, especially the last few inches before dropping off suddenly to the valley.
Speed: Very fast - Our test bow at 29 inches and 68 lbs shot a 335 grain arrow 346 feet per second off a whisker biscuit rest!
Noise: The Monster is a quiet bow, the noise it does produce is a low pitched thump, not a high pitched sharp one like many other speed bows.
Vibration: There is a noticable brief vibration that can be felt upon release, however the bow does not jump in your hand but stays put.
